The Holey Trinity - Introduction

"Satan, the deceiver of the whole world" - Revelation 12:9 (ASV)

There is an estimated 3 billion people in this world who have put their faith in a belief that is is widely known as a mystery.

"The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and of Christian life." - Roman Catholicism (ReligionFacts.com)

I ask you, how many things do you put your faith in that is a mystery? That you do not fully understand? Would God expect us to put our faith, our well being, and the means of our survival in something that is not fully understood? Jesus didn't seem to think so when he accused the Samaritans of doing this very thing.

"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know" - John 4:22 (NWT)

The fact is, the Trinity was not taught by Moses, Jesus, or the Apostles. The idea of a Trinity is not even so much as mentioned in the Bible.

"Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament" - Encyclopedia Britannica

"It is not a biblical doctrine in the sense that any formulation of it can be found in the Bible." - Illustrated Bible Dictionary

The Bible never spoke of God as being a mystery. In fact, the Bible tells us that Abraham was considered a friend of God.

"But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend." - Isaiah 41:8

Surely, Abraham was not a friend of some mysterious being. To be a friend is "a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard". Is this something that can be said if God was a mystery? Something that could not be understood? No. Clearly there is a disconnect between those who think that a triune God exists and someone who can be God's friend. The question I pose to you is, which side do you want to be on?

I am not here to promote any religion. I am here to clear up this "mystery" that so many people have fallen victim to. The fact is, if a person was never told about the Trinity and they sat down to read the Bible with a clear mind and no predetermined notion of a triune God then they would never come out of it believing there was a triune God.

By the end of the 4th century the idea of a Trinity had been full developed. This, almost 300 years after Jesus died. It is well noted that this was not what Jesus taught to his Apostles.

"When the writers of the New Testament speak of God they mean the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. When they speak of Jesus Christ, they do not speak of him nor do they think of him as God." - The Divinity of Christ; John M. Creed, Professor of Divinity at the University of Cambridge

"That the historical Jesus did not present himself as God incarnate is accepted by all [theologians] ... Christian laymen today are not fully aware of it." And "[Jesus] did not teach the doctrine of the trinity." - The Myth of God Incarnate; John Hick, Professor of Theology at Birmingham University

The doctrine of the Trinity was formulated and presented as the standard of what one must believe in order to be a Christian. The whole process behind this has very deep pagan ties. For example, Emporer Constantine I convened the Council of Nicea which determined what being a Christian was. They decided Easter was a Christian holiday. If you were to look up the origins of Easter, which can be done HERE, you will see that Easter originated with paganism. Same as Christmas. Same as every single "Christian" holiday that gets celebrated today. Constantine himself, was a well known worshipper of the pagan sun god. Until his death, Constantine retained the title of "Pontifex Maximus" which is the title of "high priest" in pagan religions. Instead of abolishing paganism, he adopted it into Christianity.

"If Paganism was conquered by Christianity, it is equally true that Christianity was corrupted by paganism. The pure Deism of the first Christians (who differed from their fellow Jews only in the belief that Jesus was the promised Messiah) was changed by the Church at Rome, into the incomprehensible dogma of the trinity. Many of the pagan tenets, invented by the Egyptians and idealized by Plato, were retained as being worthy of belief." - The History of Christianity

Despite these facts, man was able to concoct this doctrine claiming to have scriptural backing. Unfortunately for those men, they have the truth working against them. I am going to tackle, head-on, the so called Trinity Proof verses. I will expose these lies for what they truly are. The only way the Trinity can be proven is through manipulation of scripture, redefining words, and ignorance of original biblical languages. The only thing required of you is reasonableness, willingness to learn, and humility.

"It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines." - Matthew 15:9

"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8:32

Is there a specific scripture in the Bible that you are confused about? That you think proves the trinity to be true and would like it clarified? Any questions about the trinity at all, let me know. I would be more than willing to provide the information for you, or the place where you find the information.
