Who Can Forgive Sins? (Mark 2:7)

In my effort to find Bible verses that allegedly prove the Trinity I came across a website. It was the first Google result when I typed in "Trinity proof verses". Needless to say many of the verses that are mentioned have already been exposed as fallacious in previous entries. This one was new to me and yet at the same time very familiar. The particular line of reasoning is a wonderful example of the lengths in which Trinitarians need to go to to find scriptural backing of their doctrine. It really shows a lack of understand, context and flat out illogical thinking. The scripture I will be covering today is as follows:

"“Why is this man talking this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins except one, God?”" - Mark 2:7

The idea that is being asserted here is that because Jesus was forgiving sins and only God can forgive sins, then Jesus must be God. Once again faulty logic on the side on Trinitarians. How do we know this? Because the apostles had the ability to forgive sins also!

"If you [the apostles] forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven; if you retain those of anyone, they are retained.”" - John 20:23

Logically then, if the forgiving of sins is what makes Jesus God and the apostles can forgive sins then the apostles MUST also be God! God isn't a Trinity, He is made of up 15 persons yet 1 God. Either that, or the logic being used here is completely faulty. It is true that only God, Jehovah, has the power to forgive sins. But since He is all powerful, don't you think He has the power to give someone else the power to forgive sins? It IS His power to give after all.

"Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. .”" - Matthew 28:18

Jesus was GIVEN all authority. Which means he did not inherently have the authority, which the Almighty God undoubtedly has. Who does the Bible says forgives sins?

"I [Jehovah], I am the One who is blotting out your transgressions for my own sake, And I will not remember your sins." - Isaiah 43:25

Since Jesus was given ALL authority it is reasonable to believe that part of that authority was the ability to forgive sins. Given to him by the only being who has that power to give, his Father and God Jehovah.

Is there a specific scripture in the Bible that you are confused about? That you think proves the trinity to be true and would like it clarified? Any questions about the trinity at all, let me know. I would be more than willing to provide the information for you, or the place where you find the information.
